The whole idea behind ‘mind body soul’ is that your health and well-being are a result of mental health, spiritual health, and physical health. Mainstream medicine is very focused on the physical health part, providing solutions for direct symptoms. At Mind Body Soul, we practice a more wholehearted healthy living approach. Our naturopathic treatments and therapies serve to benefit the person as a whole, improving overall health instead of just a set of symptoms.
Focusing on the Mind portion of the Mind-Body-Soul triad, we’ve designated a section of our blog to mental health and well-being. From managing anxiety and depression to seasonal affective disorder and ADHD. This category of posts focuses on the nervous system and the topics surrounding it.
Many of the therapies at Mind Body Soul benefit the mind, even when the target seems physical. Take massage therapy for example. Treatments from an RMT can help with pain management and physical mobility, but they also release neurohormones. These include dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins, just to name a few. These neurotransmitters help to promote relaxation and feelings of wellbeing. Massage therapy is just as important to the mind as it is the body, and can be a healing complement to any therapy.
