gluten free pizza top down view, with toppings on a brown surface

Pizza is one of those Friday night meals at my house that we can’t live without. My family likes to make our own personalized pizza, so everyone is happy. Get the kids to make the gluten free dough and grate the cheese so everyone is involved.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cassava flour
  • 1 TBSP oregano
  • 1 TBSP rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 2 eggs or egg replacement

Instructions

1. Start the yeast in 1 cup of warm water and let sit for 5 minutes. Mix in 2 eggs – or replacement.
2. In another bowl mix cassava flour with herbs, make a well in the middle and pour in the yeast mix.
3. Mix into a ball, let sit for 20 minutes. Make smaller balls for personal pizza or double the recipe to feed more.
4. Then place parchment paper on pizza stone and  glaze with olive oil.
5. Roll out the dough.
6. Bake for 20 minutes on 375F
7. Remove, add toppings then bake on 425 until cooked/cheese melted
What’s your favourite pizza topping?
I love sautéed kale, prosciutto, black olives and goat cheese 🙂 .

Cassava flour is a great gluten-free flour alternative. While it looks like regular white flour, it comes from the cassava root vegetable, is nutritionally dense and easy to work with.
